EXPERIENCE ZERO GRAVITY WALL BREAKING & drilling

Do more with the Hilti EXO-T-22 Tool balancer

The EXO-T-22 introduces game changing technology to help improve jobsite productivity, while alleviating upper-body strain.

Your workforce is your most important asset to get the job done. With an aging workforce, lack of skilled labour and the need for a more diverse and inclusive workplace comes the need to retain and attract employees. Exoskeletons can help improve your brand image by presenting you as an innovative and caring employer, while being progressive enough to help you get the job done.

Less strain with the EXO-T

Protect your teams' health during repetitive wall breaking and drilling jobs

The battery-powered EXO-T continuously and automatically redistributes tool weight to your hips as you work thanks to a system of motorised pulleys controlled by intelligent software. The result? Breakers and rotary hammers up to 17kg feel almost weightless.

This helps your teams work more comfortably and with better posture during wall-facing jobs between hip to head height. As part of an overall safety plan, this can help to significantly reduce the risk of suffering musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).

Maximum productivity for wall jobs

Enable your teams to work faster and more precisely

Finding people to do tough work like wall demolition or repetitive rebar drilling can be a challenge. Because the EXO-T-22 Tool balancer means virtually weightless tool handling, it enables more of your employees to handle this type of work. Since the EXO-T-22 can help make tougher work less challenging, team members can use heavier tools, helping to increase speed and efficiency.

And for added convenience, it's powered by the same Nuron batteries as our breakers and rotary hammers.

Simple set-up and complete portability

Lightweight backpack-style design for more flexibility on the jobsite

The EXO-T is attached to your body like a hiking backpack. To get the right fit, just adjust the hip and shoulder straps. You then place the tool in one of our two rugged tool holders designed especially for the EXO-T and you're ready to go.

Need to move around on the jobsite? The EXO-T comes in at less than 8kg and features a foldable arm for easier transport. For extra convenience, it is powered by the same Nuron batteries as our breakers and rotary hammers.

FAQs

What type of battery do I need for the EXO-T?

The EXO-T tool balancer runs on the Hilti Nuron battery platform. We recommend using either a B 22-85 or B 22-170 Nuron battery with the EXO-T.

The Nuron platform is the same platform that powers Hilti demolition hammers and SDS-Plus and SDS-Max rotary hammers. It features over 100 tools and allows you to run virtually all your applications on one platform, including applications that were previously only possible with corded or petrol power tools.

What is the EXO-T runtime?

When using the EXO-T with a TE 800 and a B 22-170 you can expect a runtime of up to 3 hours. This might differ depending on the application and temperature of the environment.

What type of tool holder do I need for the EXO-T?

There are two types of tool holders for the EXO-T – I-shaped and L-shaped. They are designed for different shaped tools.

The I-shaped tool holder is designed for tools where the bit is centered with the handle of the tool. This is the holder you need for Hilti tools for horizontal wall breaking such as the TE 700 and the TE 1000.

The L-shaped tool holder is for tools where the bit is not centered with the handle of the tool, but is offset, making the tool more of an L shape. This is the tool holder you'll need for Hilti hammers for serial breaking and drilling such as the TE 50, TE 60, TE 70, TE 500, and TE 800.

What happens if power to the EXO-T suddenly cuts out?

We have designed the EXO-T to minimise any potential danger if the Nuron battery is removed or runs out of charge while you are working. If this happens, the tool will slowly and gradually be lowered on the pulley to protect the user.

As an added safety feature, the EXO-T will not operate if a tool that is heavier than the maximum upper limit of 17kg is attached.

Is the EXO-T suitable for people of all heights?

The EXO-T is adjustable and is designed to fit a wide range of body types. However, for people shorter than 160cm and taller than 190cm it may not fit as well as for people within this height range.

Will the EXO-T make me weaker?

The EXO-T tool balancer is designed to support you and not to reduce your natural strength. It is intended to make it easier to carry out occasional, shorter-term heavier wall applications like breaking and serial drilling for rebar or rock anchors.

Can I get an EXO-T tool balancer as part of my Fleet Management contract?

Yes. The EXO-T is available through our Fleet Management tool solution. Speak to your account manager for more information.

What is the difference between the EXO-T tool balancer and the EXO-S exoskeleton?

The EXO-T is designed for heavier-duty wall-based applications carried at knee to head height, and it is motorised.

The EXO-S is designed for repetitive work above shoulder level using light and medium duty tools. It does not require a battery for use.
